Technology in the Classroom
At the Flagstaff campus, students have access to iPads and/or laptop computers in their classrooms. This gives them access to the learning technologies they need to support their learning, as directed by the teacher. Students in Years 5 and 6 study a subject called Digital Technologies, in line with the Victorian Curriculum guidelines.
At the Tambo campus, there are also laptops available for students to use in class. The curriculum at Tambo includes Digital Technologies as a subject at Year 7. Students in Years 8, 9 and 10 all undertake one subject per semester from the Digital Communication and Technology stream of our Pathway Subjects block.
Although there are laptops available to share, students in Years 7 – 12 are best to provide their own laptop computer, if they are able to. Then they can use the same device at school and at home. This means they can manage their own filing and storage systems on their laptop and will bring home with them the work they need to go on with.
If you are considering purchasing a laptop for use at school, please be careful to check that it will be compatible with the school system.
To work with the school system and meet the learning needs of students, the computer must meet these requirements:

-
The processor must at least be an i5 or i7
